That is a known limitation of the Customer Portal - https://docs.stripe.com/customer-management#customer-portal-limitations
Customers can’t update or cancel subscriptions that currently have an update scheduled with a subscription schedule.
@normal iris is there a way to work around it ? in this case how will a member cancel the renewal if they wish to
No workarounds unfortunately. You'd need to build your own UI if you wish to support cancellation with Subscription Schedules and use the appropriate APIs directly

I'm not aware of the reason behind why this is unsupported.
