Hi there 👋

No, there isn't a way to force the Payment Element to collect a full billing address for card payments. It will only collect the minimum amount of information needed to optimize the likelihood that the transaction is approved.

If this is a business requirement for you, you can conditionally render the Address Element or your own address collection form based on the type of Payment Method the customer has currently selected in the Payment Element.

This is what we're trying to do and we are mostly there aside from Apple Pay not being able to be separated

If that is not possible, is there a way to choose which accordion is open by default when you reorder the payment types?
Can you elaborate on this question a bit more? Are you trying to expand the first payment method option by default, or a specific payment method type that is further down in the list of options provided?

Our current site has the Credit Card section at the top of the accordion list with the billing address in a separate section which is not desirable. We would prefer to have the credit card and billing address as close together as possible

We'd like the credit card to be at the bottom of the list but open by default so the billing address will be next to it

I reached out to support about this in the past but they couldn't find an answer so I was asked to reach out in the Discord. I appreciate any help you can give on this

Would you be comfortable sharing your Stripe account ID, so I can follow-up on that support discussion?

Looking at the options for creating a Payment Element, I'm not seeing any field that looks like it would let you expand a specific tab by default. I can play around with that a bit after I finish reproing an issue from another thread, but I think that will likely just lead to me filing product feedback for our teams to consider building that functionality at some point in the future.

Yeah, I'm not spotting a way to specify why payment method section to expand by default. I'm only able to expand the first one. I'll file feedback with our teams that this is something you'd be interested in seeing supported in the future.
