hello! this is a great question - i don't know off the top of my head, let me poke around in our docs to see what i can turn up... currently trying to make sense of this doc
any chance you have an example calculation you've created already?
also i'm assuming you're creating a PaymentIntent after you're creating the tax calculation, right?
i'm fairly certain that the tax calculation API doesn't support stripe Coupons or Discounts so i think the recommendation would be to just adjust the amount values downward by the appropriate amount
if you went the route of using checkout sessions, those support both automatic_tax and discounts, and then stripe is handling all the math for you

Awesome thanks, I reached the same conclusion after scrubbing API docs, planning on adjusting the amount values before calling to calculate tax, thank you for the help
