Apple Pay needs to be served over HTTPS. This is required both in development and production. You could potentially use ngrok to get an HTTPS domain [0].

ok thanks
another question - is it possible to use 1 click checkout via apple pay that creates a payment method token that can then be charged later ?
if so can you provide documentation?
thank you very much

correct
so is it possible to use apple pay 1 click checkout and have it produce a payment method token that i can use to charge them later for either an upsell or recurring charge?
I believe this should be possible by passing setup_future_usage when creating the PaymentIntent [0]
