Hi, how does the tax calculate change afterwards? Can you speak more to that?

We sell wholesale, cutomers can add a Tax Exemption Cert to thier account. At the time of checkout, if the cert is valid, the PI auth does not include taxes.

If the cert expires before the order ships, we need to charge taxes. This is the case where our auth'd amount is no longer enough.

Why would not you create a PaymentIntent with the tax? Then, once you confirm the exemption, you only capture the amount excluding the tax

That is possible but would require a large rework on our side. Would like to avoid that if possible
