Hello! The mandate requirement varies depending on many more factors than just the type of payment method being used. Other factors include if you're setting up the Payment Method for future use or not, the country you're doing business in, the country the customer is in, and so on.
You would need to read through the documentation for each of the payment method types your integration supports to know what the individual requirements are for your specific situation.

I see. I am mostly interested in one-off (non-recurring) purchases with cards saved in Link. I will go ahead and look for Link-specific documentation then.

For Link cards I don't think mandate data is needed unless you're in India, but it's best to confirm by testing in test mode.
