๐ Welcome to your new thread!
โฒ๏ธ We'll be here soon! Typically we respond in a few minutes, but sometimes we might take a bit longer if the server is busy or if you have a particularly tricky question.
โฑ๏ธ We close idle threads, which makes them read-only. Once a thread is closed it won't be reopened, but you can always start a new thread if you have another question.
๐ This thread will always be available, even after it's closed. You can find it again using Discord's search, or you can save this link: https://discord.com/channels/841573134531821608/1342182537341964409

Hi ๐
The language in that doc is specifically vague: ".. it may load hCaptcha"
We do not explicitly guarantee if or when we will run hCaptcha
You can always add your own if you want more control over how it functions. Stripe will implement hCaptcha in an attempt to reduce the potential for fraudulent charges.
Thank you - we have never seen/heard of that happening - is it invisible to the user?
Also, we do occasionally see customers of ours (nonprofits) get some card testing going on and it doesn't ever seem like hCaptcha has gotten in the way of those.
I guess I'm also curious to know if it really works to stop that activity, based on what you guys have seen
In general this kind of Captcha is using details about how the customer is interacting with the page to establish whether they are a person or not. Unfortunately, it's an arms race between engineers trying to make these sites more safe and malicious actors
I cannot speak to the specifics of how these tools reduce (or fail to reduce) fraud. That isn't what this server is for. I can provide advice and guidance on coding integrations with Stripe APIs.
All right - I appreciate your help and sorry for straying off topic. Thanks!
No worries! I'm happy to shed what ๐ก I can ๐
