Perhaps related - I cannot see that event in my stripe dashboard that shows the events my webhook has recieved, but my webhook handler does log having recieved that event

The account.updated happened on the Connected account, not Platform, so the Event can only be retrieved from the Connected account.

but I have set my webhook being able to listen to events from connected accounts - and it did recieve the event - but you are saying that I then cannot use my own stripe account to call stripe.event.retrieve again?

You have to make the call via your Platform on behalf of your Connected account to retrieve it: https://docs.stripe.com/connect/authentication

so i need to do something like this (exact example match not found for python and what I am trying to do so double checking wiht you) :
stripe.Event.retrieve(eventid = "evt...", stripe_account_id = "accit...") ?

There's a Python example.
stripe_account = "acct_xxx" basically
