Are you updating this Subscription? I didn't see that mentioned in your reproduction steps, but that's the behavior that leads to our proration line items being generated (the ones with the "Unused time on" descriptions).
Can you share the ID of a Subscription and Invoice from your testing that didn't behave the way you hoped?
