Hi there. To follow up on your thread with my colleague Toby, are you providing your API key to the standalone Address Element in autocomplete.apiKey? https://docs.stripe.com/js/elements_object/create_address_element#address_element_create-options-autocomplete-apiKey
hi so no we are not
we ideally want to let stripe handle the google api configuration
That doesn't work though, when you're using the Address Element on its own. We document that here:
If you use the Address Element alone, you must use your own Google Maps API Places Library key, which is managed separately from your Stripe account. Pass the key in the autocomplete.apiKey option.
https://docs.stripe.com/elements/address-element#autocomplete
and in that case we need to pay them for the use of that?
I'm not familiar with how/if Google Maps API is priced
so even sending this wont work?
export const stripeAddressOptions: StripeAddressElementOptions = {
mode: 'billing',
autocomplete: {
mode: 'automatic',
},
display: {
name: 'full',
},
};
<AddressElement options={stripeAddressOptions}>
for autocomplete to work in AddressElement without a google API key, we need either:
- both PE and AE in the same Elements instance
- Link enabled
Correct!
