Hi, let me help you with this.
Interesting, sounds like a bug. Could you please share a recording of this behavior?
That's the error I get when the element loads, and when I select Paypal it gets back to the Saved card payment method after a few seconds. If in those seconds I click to proceed with the Paypal payment, I get the same error. I'll record the screen now, can you suggest a good software or addon for that?
Those two recordings with an expired card, trying to pay with Google pay and Paypal
What happens if you remove the date, or click update/cancel?
If I manually remove the date, it comes back after a few seconds
Sorry, actually it comes back only when I click another payment method, like Paypal
If I click update/cancel I can update or cancel the card, canceling it solves the problem as does updating the expiry date. Still customers aren't aware of this workaround so they contacted us saying they couldn't pay with Google pay
I would suggest reporting this issue to Stripe Support: https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
Hmm ok. So you can't help me on this?
I don't have a great experience with Stripe Support I always found more helpful this channel
I mean it seems like a bug/bad UI, and there's no immediate fix for this. So the best thing you could do is to report this issue.
To avoid it you could for example proactively delete expired cards.
