Hello, Express accounts can't initiate refunds from their own dashboard. Because the payment intents exist on your platform account, typically the platform account has to refund through the dashboard or API
hmm I see because I read when I was setting the accounts for the first time that there is an option to let them handle the refunds etc
it was a visual click and set up for the first time
thats why I am a bit confused sorry!! ๐
Ah gotcha, I do see how that is worded confusingly. That can be true for some connect platform fund flows, but typically that is when the connected accounts have full dashboard access

so what happens lets say a payout is made right the current way I have it, something goes wrong and it must be refunded I can get the amount from the connected account?
Yes you can: https://docs.stripe.com/connect/account-debits
With accout debits you can charge the account as a payment method. We try to take the funds from their Stripe balance and if there isn't enough we try to charge their external account
