Hi ๐
That seems to be a reasonable approach. However, to be clear, you can only "top up" your platform account. From there, you can Transfer funds from your Platform Account to the relevant Connected Accounts to cover any Stripe fees
Hey there @green bear thanks for the quick response - If I choose these options from the Connect onboarding flow, doesn't that mean the Platform Account will incur Stripe fees, and my individual Stripe accounts will act as sellers? That's what I gathered from the example at https://docs.stripe.com/connect/separate-charges-and-transfers?platform=web&ui=stripe-hosted#collect-fees
Okay yes, Connect is a complex integration and there are many ways you can configure it.
With the Separate Charges & Transfers flow, your platform acts as the merchant the customers interface with. You handle accepting payment entirely on your platform account and then you transfer portions of the funds to however many separate Connected Accounts are involved.
All the Stripe fees are asssessed on the charges, which is handled by the Platform
Cool, I think I'm in good shape then, as long as I can convert my existing accounts into "sellers" under a Platform. Thanks for the gut check!
Sure thing!
