I should have said " Once finalized, Stripe is still waiting an hour before attempting the first payment.
Makes sense. So after an hour, Stripe will Finalize and Pay (attempt payment of) the Invoice, whereas in this case you're only Finalizing it, so Stripe still waits an hour to attempt payment.
Using invoice.pay() after you Finalize will give you the behavior you're looking for, as you suspected.
ok, so it sounds like while the finalization grace period is configurable, the one hour wait between invoice creation and attempting a payment is not. Good to know.
