Hello, did you update from a price with a different cycle length? Eg yearly to monthly or every 2 months to monthly?
no - all my prices are set to 1 month
Do you have the request ID of a time that you saw this behavior? (req_1234)
give me one sec to find it
Sorry it's taking me longer to find the request - still looking for it
Keep in mind all of these changes were done via the UI.
req_wII8RUQyotbpBl
here's one example
I see the billing_cycle_anchor was what seems to have caused it, but why did the UI do that?
maybe
Taking a look
Thx
I would like to be able to update subscriptions w/o my billing period shifting
When you say UI, what are you referring to?
Updating the subscription
Yeah, I think it's because you're updating the subscription with billing_cycle_anchor: "now",
We document how you can update the price on a subscription here: https://docs.stripe.com/billing/subscriptions/upgrade-downgrade#changing
ok, how do you make this change via the UI? The people making these changes will not be using the API.
We concentrate on unblocking developers with their technical questions in this channel. I do not have much expertise with the Dashboard. You can write in to support for that.
Our support team will be able to assist you better than I can: https://support.stripe.com/contact
Do they have technical support know how?
I ask b/c the support person I chatted with sent me here
yes, if you specify you're asing how to do things via the Dashboard, they will.
I hope I don't get stuck in a support loop of going back and forth b/c that is very frustrating
What should the value be posting to vs 'now'
?
just out of curiosity
if I want to stay on the first of the month should it be the epoch time of first of that month
?
If both of the periods on the Price is the same, you wound not need to do anything: https://docs.stripe.com/billing/subscriptions/upgrade-downgrade#billing-periods
