@versed dust I think you might be trying to update the paymentelement instance, rather than the elements group. Can you try elements.update()?

@tropic glen I'm happy to take a look to see if i can help, just not in this thread where I am trying to help someone else. I didn't think my message was particularly disrespectful but sorry if it came off as curt.
So, yeah, I am calling the update method of the paymentElement, and not elements group.
Fixing...
Seems to work now, thanks. But, it looks like I need to pass in the complete appearance object each time, and not just the updated attributes.
But, that's fine! Thanks for your help.
