Hi! How did the customer overpay? Do you have the invoice ID?
it's actually on test, there are some possible cases where the a customer can overpay for a service, or even pay for a service that wasn't later delivered, so we want to look for a way to refund some amount back to the customer
in_1QiAwtBamNPWeP11G5Yw8hoZ, this is a sample invoice
You cannot directly refund an Invoice. The 2 ways to deal with this are:
- Create a credit note: https://docs.stripe.com/invoicing/dashboard/credit-notes
- Refund the Payment Intent created when the Invoice was paid: https://docs.stripe.com/api/invoices/object#invoice_object-payment_intent and https://docs.stripe.com/api/refunds/create
