Hi, we document how PaymentIntents work here: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/paymentintents/lifecycle
You will need to confirm the payment intent either immediately by passing 'confirm:true' when you create the PaymentIntent. Or, you can the confirm call later: https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment_intents/confirm
Would this be best after FinalizeInvoice?
I'm unsure what you mean here. Can you step back and walk me through what you're working on exactly?
A user signs up for a free trial (CC given at sign up), then they purchase a one-time payment item. I create the invoice and finalize it but it always comes back requires_confirmation
Looking in to this, will get back with what I can find
If you pass auto_advance: true when finalizing your invoice, I think we will automatically attempt to charge it, or will attempt to charge it after some time (specified in the next_attempt field on the invoice)
https://docs.stripe.com/api/invoices/finalize#finalize_invoice-auto_advance
If we don't immediately try to charge it with that setting you can leave that param out and to call invoice/{invoice_id}/pay after your finalize call. That will attempt payment on the invoice.
Complete reference documentation for the Stripe API. Includes code snippets and examples for our Python, Java, PHP, Node.js, Go, Ruby, and .NET libraries.
Gotcha, so the /pay endpoint is needed to attempt payment right after the invoice is finalized
