instead of using the CardNumberElement, why not just use the PaymentElement with only 'card' as the type
and you can disable the wallets so GooglePay and Apple Pay won't be presented in the PaymentElement

That sounds good. If we decide to remove ExpressCheckoutElement and use only PaymentElement for everything, is there any downside for that ?
