That's a PaymentIntent ID but should get me to the right place
Sorry for the delay! This is expected; most customer emails are not sent out in test mode/sandboxes
So the refund was called correctly from my server? Could something similar happen in production?

Yes, the Refund was created and has a status of succeeded. In production, customers will receive Refund emails since you have the setting on to send Refund emails and this customer has a saved email
