Code is as follows: $bankAccountToken = $stripe->tokens->create($bankAccountParams, ['stripe_account' => auth()->user()->currentTeam->connect_id]);

    $bankAccountTokenId = $bankAccountToken->id;

    $stripe->accounts->createExternalAccount(
        auth()->user()->currentTeam->connect_id,
        ['external_account' => $bankAccountTokenId]
      );

and I am getting the token back properly, but when the instant is initiated its not being directed to the card but the bank account

Hi, instant payouts is only supported via the Dashboard only: https://docs.stripe.com/payouts/instant-payouts

Also, only debit cards are elibible for instant payouts and not credit cards: https://docs.stripe.com/payouts/instant-payouts#compare-instant-payouts-to-standard-payouts

Nevermind, i just found in the dashboard where i needed to adjust. It was an oversight on my end not setting the defaulty payout
