hi! I would say no, it's not. The collection_method only changes if you change it explicitly.

Okay understand that I can wait for a webhook to see the invoice paid. My question was badly phrased. If they pay the sent invoice, is the payment method they used then stored on their customer account?
Once I see they have a payment method I can transition the subscription to charge_automatically.

as far as I know no it's not saved for future use when a payment is made on the Hosted Invoice Page
