We got an email:
Hello,
We’re writing to let you know that we’re updating the customer consent collection process for saving card details on point-of-sale devices, in line with industry requirements. These changes are required by March 31, 2025.
So that email was specifically for collecting and saving cards used during a card-present flow, and using those cards for future online payments:
