Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

Do you know what kind of Stripe Account this client has? Do they have direct access to the Stripe Dashboard?

#

If the client has a Standard Stripe account, they should have full access to their dashboard and all their data should still be in their account.

#

There is not a way to copy over data that lives on another Platform account

Hello!
Yes the client has express connected account. I think he has access to only his dashboard not main account's dashboard.

#

Express accounts have access to a restricted (not full) Dashboard.

#

There is no way to copy over data that lives on the platform account. That data belongs to the platform.

so can we copy the connected account's data?
and just to confirm it won't have any customers data on the connected account?

I don't know what you mean by this. For most Express & Custom accounts, they are controlled by a single platform and cannot be migrated. In those cases, you would need to create a new Stripe account and start over. However, I cannot say anything for certain without having the Connected account's ID to review

and just to confirm it won't have any customers data on the connected account?
That I cannot say. I don't know anything about this particular account

sorry I couldn't detail out my questions what I meant was:
If the client has express connected account and is that possible to migrate/transfer data to another stripe account without involving client's main stripe account?
and wanted to confirm if express typed connected account can have customers information as well (asking cause on our side we don't store customers info on connected account but only transactions)?

I cannot say without more information about the connected account

#

Again, cannot say

balmy merlin
#

yeah no worries.
just one more question if client has standard account on their stripe account can we migrate/transfer data on our side converting client's standard type account to express to meet our stripe account's standards?

chilly orchid
#

Sorry but that makes no sense when it comes to how Connected Accounts work

#

If a Connected Account has type: 'standard' then typically all the data for transactions involving that account exist on the Connected Account

#

So, when the Connected Account changes Platforms, they still have all their data

#

You cannot convert an account type

#

You would need to create a new Express Account (if you wanted an Express Account) for that client

#

If you also were connected to their Standard Account, you would be able to use the Stripe APIs to get Customer and other data that lives on that Account

#

yeah got it tysm
