The question is due to the fact that we have already done same integration in other places (other projects, with android and iOS) and we are trying to reuse same logic again but this time with webApp, so we would like if our servers could maintain the same journey that we already have and in order to keep same experience it would be awesome that FE can do confirmSetupIntent with custom elements since its already existing FE experience migrating from another payment gateway

Are you sure you are calling confirmSetupIntent() on the frontend vs. confirmSetup()?
