Hello
Taking a look
Yep actually this is expected now. We are in the process of rolling out a change where this domain verification will no longer be required for Apple Pay. I'm not sure there has been explicit external communication about this (I don't think our docs have been updated yet) so I'll flag that internally.
Oh okay, thanks. So to clarify, Apple Pay will now work on any domain that I register, without having to upload the domain vertification certificate?
You say "in the process", suggesting perhaps this wouldn't always be the case? I don't suppose you have any idea of when it would always be the case? We have been building functionality that indicates to users whether Apple Pay is "working" on their domains, (i.e., whether they have correctly uploaded their certificates) but it seems this may end up becoming redundant...?
For all new domains created they should be enabled without requiring domain verification. I say "in progress" because I believe there is some work going on to migrate those domains that were created prior to this change but were not verified yet to be verified.
Okay brilliant. Thanks for your help.
Sure thing
Sorry just one more question on this. Am I right in thinking you would still need to actually create the domain (via payment method domains), it's only that uploading the domain certificate isn't required?
Yes that's correct
