Hello! The error message explains the issue. Have you tried supplying a return_url?
well the use case is this. We charge for a pre-registration of $50 and want to charge the rest later
how do we go about doing that
We're using stripe.checkout.sessions with setup_future_usage: 'off_session'.
when we use the checkout, it created a GUEST customer instead of an actual customer
You do what you're doing now for the $50 payment, but you need to supply a return_url. Then, later, you do this to charge them again off-session: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/save-during-payment?platform=web&ui=elements#charge-saved-payment-method
we already do that ... we process the session_id
It sounds like you skipped a step or two.
You should be following this guide: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/save-during-payment?platform=web&ui=stripe-hosted
Step #2 is to create a Customer.
