hello! I think there's a misunderstanding here, you shouldn't rely on the redirect status to determine if payment was made. in essence, yes, you should query the PaymentIntent again in my receipt page to determine the user's payment status
when does redirect_status become failed then?
can you share where exactly are you seeing the redirect_status? An example object id would be appreciated

hmmmm, sorry, I don't know when redirect_status will be failed off the top of my head. If you want to know, we can look into this further and get back to you via a support ticket. Let me know if you want us to do so. In summary though, you should retrieve the PaymentIntent to understand the status
