Hi there
Can you share the account ID for one of the connected accounts that sees Alipay? The acount ID should begin with 'acct_'
So this account is a standard account. As a standard account, they have access to the Dashboard and can manage payment methods for any direct payments/integrations they create on their own
From their Dashboard, they can also see payment method settings that apply to payments facilitated by other platforms they're connected to. I see this account is connected to a few different platforms. The standard account can navigate to Settings > Payment Methods, then toggle a menu on the top right to see the different payment method settings for each of these platforms
Which platform are you with?
"Arlo Software Connect"
Hm, I see what you mean. Alipay is not listed as a payment method when you try to manage connected accounts' payment methods in the Dashboard
I see it as an option under payment payments for "your account", but not for "your connected accounts".
Right
Do I have any way of blocking it and others that I might not be able to see on the dashboard via the api?
or better yet: block everything by default
Okay, I think it's just a UI issue in this case
Give me a min to explain
Connect support for Alipay is limited to destination charges and separate charges and transfers: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/alipay#connect
I understand you're using direct charges
We're converting to using the payment element (and payment intents).
I looked at a PaymentIntent created by the platform on the account you shared above and don't see alipay returned in the list of payment method types on a PaymentIntent
So it looks like, even though it seems like this connected account can toggle Alipay on/off in their Dashboard payment method settings, this payment method won't show up in the PaymentElement. Are you finding otherwise?
I'll verify that with them, it'll likely take a while to get a response though.
How can I filter the stripe logs on the account from which the request originated?
I'm seeing very general logs - but most of our customers are still using the card element, so most are irrelevant.
Not sure I follow the question
If you're logged in as Arlo and want to look at Connect-related logs in the Dashboard, you can filter for outgoing Connect requests: https://dashboard.stripe.com/logs?method[0]=post&method[1]=delete&dashboard=false&direction[0]=connect_out&showIP=false
Yep, those logs, but i'm not seeing the account be part of it - i think that's a different question at this point though.
Back to the original question:
It seems that there are payment methods that connected accounts will see, and we can't do anything to disable them via either the dashboard or the api.
Is that right?
Right but it seems to be a Dashboard UI issue only and not actually resulting in these payment methods being supported for PaymentIntents
I'll file this on my end for review/resolution. I recommend creating a support ticket and note in the ticket that you've chatted in Discord with me (and you can link to this chat - https://discord.com/channels/841573134531821608/1311101389593776170): https://support.stripe.com/contact/
If you're able to do this in the next few minutes, let me know and I'll look out for your ticket
Ok, I'll get back to them with that, thanks.
And I'll create a ticket.
Ok...Think it went through.
just to confirm: what is the email on that?
