additional context
so essentially I should have something like this on a sale amount of 20615.00 USD
whereas stripe is just using the 2.25% county rate times the full subtotal
and not accounting for the additional state tax rate of 2.75% on the 1600
Tax Rate is a manual tax rate defined by your system. Stripe doesn't check the state and will apply the tax rate set directly
For the Tax Rate (manual), configuration like this isn't supported
Alternatively, you can use Stripe Tax which manages tax calculation automatically: https://docs.stripe.com/tax
ah bummer I hope you folks add this to your roadmap
I'd recommend sharing the feedback to the https://support.stripe.com/contact
