Hi, let me help you with this.
I have t use schedule for everything now
Yes, while the Subscription is controlled by a Schedule you have to manage it via Subscription Schedule API. You can just update the current phase to change the currently used Prices.
Released means the schedule ended
Yes, when you release a Subscription Schedule it becomes just a normal Subscription that you can modify directly. You can either release it manually via API, or set end_behavior=release and wait until the end of the last phase.
permanent phases
Not sure what you mean by this. Could you please give an example?
The scheduled have been setup by my admin team in the Dashboard. The price increase is permanent so the scheduled were setup with an endDate to "permanente". This means the phase will never end, thus never be released ?
I see that a schedule can be release with this endpoint https://docs.stripe.com/api/subscription_schedules/release, does this apply to this use case ? Is it possible to do it in the Dashboard because I cannot find it ?
Out team doesn't know much about how Dashboard works. Generally, if you want to keep the final phase running forever, you would want to release the Subscription Schedule after it reaches the last phase. It becomes just a normal Subscription with the parameters of the latest phase.
Perhaps that's what this Dashboard setting does.
The "Permanente" settings in the Dashboard doesn't seems to existe in the API object ?

I can see two phases both with end date, the phase "0" end november 1st and the phase "1" start november 1st and end december 1st. But this is not what is displayed in the dashboard with this "Permanente" end date.
The current phase property confirm that
"current_phase": {
"end_date":
1733007600,
"start_date":
1730415600,
},
I also see a "renewal_interval": null, proprety that is not mention in the doc ?
Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.
Yes, I see that the Subscription Schedule was created with end_behavior: "release", meaning it will become an regular Subscription which will run indefinitely. That's what "permanent" in the Dashboard means.
Ok, this will be release on december 1st ? How can I released it earlier ? This endpoint can do it https://docs.stripe.com/api/subscription_schedules/release, event if the phase start Nevember 1st ?
Yes, as long as the Schedule is in its last stage, you can release it manually anytime.
Ok thank you
