Hi ๐
What have you tried?
I am trying to tell if this is a supported path, the docs seem mixed at best
I am planning some work for my team, and there was a request to support this payment method
Unfortunately we don't have Affirm or Klarna available for recurring payments
Is it possible to set up something like a cron job that creates "one-off" payments at a regular interval?
With Affirm and Klarna you would still need the customer to be on-session to complete the authentication
There is a private beta for recurring payments with Klarna but we won't have any more information on it here
Okay, understood. I work at Firefox, and we would be happy to work with you on the private beta, if there's a way for us to request access
(To make sure I'm not overstepping, "work with you" would mean being an understanding customer of a beta product ๐)
You can request to sign up directly on the Klarna page I shared
If you look for the Recurring Payments header there's a badge that says "Private Preview" and a link right next to it that says "Sign Up"
Great, thank you. I'll pass it along to the team.
The main takeaway I have is that customers could one-off buy a year's subscription, but there would be no way for it to automatically renew. The customer would need to essentially go through the signup process again. Is that accurate with what's currently public?
Correct
You could bring them back online and have them re-purchase the subscription but that's less ergonomic than an auto-renew
Yep agreed, thanks for your help!
Happy to shed what ๐ก I can ๐
