Hi there 👋 no, you can't create Account Links for Accounts that aren't associated with your Platform already.
OAuth is what you would need to use, but you're correct that we don't recommend using that. If the Account that your user tries to connect is already controlled by a different Platform, then a new Account is silently created and connected to your account anyway.
We are hoping to improve the onboarding experience for returning users in the future.
