Yes, the client_reference_id is a field on the Checkout Session object, not the payment intent. It would be present on checkout session events like checkout.session.completed
If you want information on the underlying payment intent, you can pass that via metadata using payment_intent_data[metadata] and then you'd find it in the metadata on those payment intent events
