note that even if a card is expeired, it can continue to work in some cases. and no, you cannot know in advance if the payment will declines. the only solution is to actually try to charge the card.

ok so I cannot know if the card is actually expired (and doesn't work) or invalid or has insufficient funds, etc, etc without charging it?

and on your website, under my customers it lists payment methods and sometimes says "Expired" next to a payment method. is this based on the date, so if the month passed ?
