@robust carbon I'm sorry but I'm going to need a lot more specific details about what's not working. Exact code, clear example object ids, exact UI that you see, what errors you see or get, etc.
It seems you were already deep into this with our support team but now are starting from scratch here which might not be the best appraoch.

onkel_checkout-applepay

robust carbon
#

Yes, but the support team just refers to documentation a have never seen, and requires me to access to logon as a connected account, which is not possible. I can only impersonate them. I thought you might have better technical insigt..
Also, why did apple pay work on one connected account, and then stopped working, when we inherits paymen method settings from main account?

#

Also we were told, that if it works in test mode, it will work in live mode. I we did not get any information about setting up doain and certifcate for apple pay...

It could be dozens of things. The first step is to take a couple steps back, think about the problem carefully and then explain exactly what you are seeing all in one clear message here. Not multiple really short sentences in quick succession

We're happy to help you, but we do need a clear explanation as if you explained it for the first time

robust carbon
#

And why should this be naccesary if we use hosted solutoin?

Sure, we have multiple connected accounts, that use our web app, with a Stripe hosted checkout session. When using checkout, the "Apple Pay" button is shown, but nothing happens when you click the button. We have other accounts that have previously accepted "Apple Pay" without any issues.

A contacted your support team, thinking it was an issue/outtage on your part. The support team says our accounts need to have our domain verified with Apple, and also something about a certificate..

#

I feel this cant be right, since apple pay worked before. no changes on our part.

crimson prairie
#

Sorry just to be clear I asked for one clear message. Just one message. Don't press return in the middle without any info πŸ™‚

robust carbon
#

Are you kidding me?

crimson prairie
#

I hear you on the frustration and the support team maybe saying something completely incorrect. But right now you haven't really provided any actionable information that I asked when you created the questioN
Please focus on that. Just as a developer, explain exactly what's not working, with a clear example such as a Checkout Session id where it doesn't work and what your code does. Once you do that, we can look at it for you and likely find the issue

This account can not accept Apple Pay, but should be able to (button is shown in checkout):
https://dashboard.stripe.com/connect/accounts/acct_1QHnMgR2bmrIOPpZ/settings/payment_methods

This account has previously accepted apple pay (but they dont have any active offers in our app right now):
https://dashboard.stripe.com/connect/accounts/acct_1Q5o8rQrCumLefzh/settings/payment_methods
Example of payments with apple pay on this account:

πŸ‘‹ Stepping in for my teammate, give me a few minutes to catch up.

#

Hm, okay I see acct_1QHnMgR2bmrIOPpZ has Dashboard access but the platform manages payment methods for them

robust carbon
#

Of course. I dont appreciate your co-worker scolding me for "pressing enter" in a chat app, just as a site note.

meager tendon
#

ApplePay is on for acct_1QHnMgR2bmrIOPpZ so users who access Checkout Sessions created for this account by the platform should see ApplePay as long as the customer is accessing the Checkout Session in Safari and the customer has a card saved to their Apple wallet

robust carbon
#

They do see the button, but they cant click it

meager tendon
#

Hm, I see

#

I see they're also within a parent app (Instagram in this case)

#

Do you know if they see anything different if they open the Checkout Session directly in their mobile browser (instead of this view)?

robust carbon
#

i also tryied in safari, same issue..

#

Just add a flower to the basket, and press "Til kassen" and then "Til betaling"

#

will take you to a stripe checkout session in test mode, and the issue is also here

#

If you have an apple device ofc.

meager tendon
#

Ah, I see what you mean. Let me see what I can find

#

Okay, I'm stumped. Let me get some help from a teammate, give me a few more minutes

robust carbon
#

Sure. Thanks

alpine oakBOT
robust carbon
#

@meager tendon did you find anything?

meager tendon
#

Not yet, unfortunately. I'm not able to reproduce with my own test mode Checkout Sessions so we're still trying to figure out the difference between yours and ours

robust carbon
#

you need me to do anything?

untold frigate
#

πŸ‘‹ Several of us are looking, and I'll be taking over this conversation.

#

Nothing needed yet.

robust carbon
#

Okay. I can stay online if you need me to? πŸ™‚

untold frigate
#

Actually, do you know exactly when this started? You mentioned you've previously accepted Apple Pay before without issue, correct?

robust carbon
#

yes, we have a live account that has payments done with apple pay.

#

and it also used to work in test mode

#

but i dont know when it stopped wokring

#

we discovered it the evening, around 1700 UTC

untold frigate
#

Gotcha. We're continuing to investigate. Do you need to go soon?

robust carbon
#

i can wait 30 min or so, unless you really need me to stay. (its 00:36 in denmark :))

untold frigate
#

No, we don't need you to stay at this point. We can reproduce easily using your site, so you're good to go if you want. We'll find and fix the issue and hopefully when you wake up tomorrow it'll be back to normal, although I can't promise that since we haven't figured out the cause yet.

robust carbon
#

Of course, i understand. I'm just glad you are looking into it. Much appreciated. Hope its not an all nighter for you guys πŸ™‚

#

Please give an update when you know more. I'll check in tomorrow.

This thread will be closed by then (we close idle threads) but hopefully this will be fixed soon. If it's not fixed tomorow feel free to open a new thread, or reach out to Stripe support: https://support.stripe.com/contact/email
