For it just to run through without requiring the confirmation. This is an automated scheduled payment, so there's no confirmation at the time.

Your API request was only to create the Payment Intent, not to confirm it. If you want to also confirm it at the same time you need to set confirm to true in the request: https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment_intents/create#create_payment_intent-confirm
