for reference i created this payment link:
plink_1QCPemHIU60wpvgmx04GVaHg with metadata but the charges generated from it have no metadata. i assumed (falsely it seems) that payment link metadata would be inherited by charges. so i'm looking for a better solution/workaround for this.

If you want to pass down the metadata to the Charge, you need to provide it in the payment_intent_data.metadata parameter https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-link/create#create_payment_link-payment_intent_data-metadata

there isn't any way to do that via the dashboard setup of the payment link, is there?
i'd have to create the payment link via the API, maybe?
