I think you are correct, we don't have a pause behavior as you describe it. We do allow you to pause payment collection but that still processes billing cycles like normal.

For this kind of behavior, I think your best option would be to use Subscription Schedules. It would still be complicated because you would need to manage some of the tracking of the subscription status in your own data system

Hi!

Thank you for the response, do you know if Stripe has plans be build support for these funtionality?

We use Stripe Checkout and Stripe Customer Portal to manage our monthly and yearly subscriptions, but it looks like right now we need to build something custom with the Stripe API (like Subscription Schedules like you mentioend above) and it seems complicated to implement and maintain

I do not know of any plans to build out full Subscription pausing but I can raise it as a feature request
