Is it possible to start a free trial of a specific product with a customers credit card, and once the trial ends move them to a new product automatically? if so how can I accomplish this?
Why you want a free trial of a specific product ? free trial is a free period regardless of the products... so you should simply create a Subscription with a trial and with the final product

To avoid confusion

I have a premium product I offer that I want to offer a 10 day free trial. However I want to limit some of the credits on the free trial vs on the premium product. Because free trial users have been abusing it.

#

Also I am curious if adding a free trial can be just be applied to the users on boarding my app or will the free trial always be offered for the specific product in my app on stripe checkout? If that makes sense

Free trial is something you have 100% control on. You decide when to give free trial and when not.

#

Consider free trial as you are offering your services for free regardless of what product.
