Hi there, did you create this sandbox account in your account (i.e., platform) ?

#

Ok, is it about a connected account that created in your sandbox account?

next dirge
#

Hello

#

It’s for the connected account named Voyager

#

We first created this real account

warped summit
#

OK. Just to clarify, so you want to invite your members to the sandbox account? (i.e., acct_1Q8nLfIEeIH1gPwZ)

next dirge
#

And then realized we couldn’t use Test mode for things like Event Destinations so switched to using Sandbox

#

We would like to sign into the Sandbox account ending in SpiY

#

So that we can see exactly what our merchant customer will see

warped summit
#

OK. Just to clarify, so you want to invite your members to the sandbox account? (i.e., acct_1Q8nLfIEeIH1gPwZ)

next dirge
#

Kind of

#

That is the id of the platform

warped summit
#

Yes you can invite members to the sandbox account. Have you tried it?

next dirge
#

How?

warped summit
next dirge
#

Won’t that just invite members to the Platform account ?

#

I need to invite to the connected merchant account

warped summit
#

You need to firstly switch to sandbox first, so that you can invite memebrs to your sandbox account

#

Do you know how to switch to sandbox?

next dirge
#

Yes

warped summit
next dirge
#

The request ID i providdd is for a payment intent in the sandbox

#

I was able to setup the sandbox Apple pay domain name so Apple Pay is working in the sandbox

#

But haven’t figured out how to invite “merchant users”.

Ok I tried those steps and I end up in the same place as I show in the video. The Platform's "Team and security" page.

warped summit
#

OK we have a misunderstanding here. You want to invite your members to express account created in your sandbox account.

next dirge
#

I would like to invite them to the connected merchant account. Not the connected platform account.

#

Do you mean this invite is only possible via API instead of the web app?

warped summit
#

As I said, there's no invite feature for express account. But you can create login link (see the link that I shared earlier) to let your member access the express account dashboard.

next dirge
#

Interesting. Because when not using the sandbox I can sign in to the Connected Merchant account.

#

With the credentials that I set at the time of receing the invite to setup the Connect account.

#

Now that the account already exists, I can still create these login links?

warped summit
#

But that's different from "inviting a new member", isn't it?

#

Yes you can create login link, refer to the API reference.

next dirge
#

ok great, will check it out. This is all very new/different from Connect Standard.

#

And we're used to Test Mode, so things go a whole other level with sandboxes now

warped summit
#

Yes you are right, Standard account has full Dashboard access (including invite members), but Express account doesn't.

next dirge
#

it's a bit confusing having both Test mode and Sandboxes.

#

Maybe Test mode will be deprecated?

#

Can we disable or hide test mode completely so we only use sandboxes?

warped summit
#

Can you elaborate more about the confusion? I'd like to hear more about it and feed back to the product team.

next dirge
#

Putting sandboxes aside, as a Platform you can invite merchants in Live or Test mode. Let's say you invite a merchant in Live mode, you can still now operate as the connected merchant in Test mode.

#

So just alone in the legacy system you can have multiple levels of live/test between the Platform and Connected Merchant.

#

Now you can add any unlimited number of sandboxes, which is nice.

#

And that sandbox is it's very own instance of the platform and connected accounts.

#

It just has a lot of dimensions and possibliities.

#

Removing the abilty to toggle into Test mode would help not accidentally ending up in the wrong place.

#

For example, we initially went through and did a bunch of configuration in the Test mode (because we knows this well).

But then we had to abandon everything we did in Test mode because AWS Event Destinations (new feature, not fully released yet to the public) are not supported in Test Mode... only in Sanbox mode.

#

It's hard to explain... that may not have made a lot of sense lol.

warped summit
#

I see, so you didn't know that some features require sandbox, and you made the configuration in test mode. And now you need to do it again in sandbox

next dirge
#

yes

#

and the Test mode toggle is up at the top of the screen teasing us... inviting itself to be used.

warped summit
#

That's a great feedback. Thank you! I'll let the product team know about it.

#

So ideally the test mode button and sandbox should be at the same level of discoverability

next dirge
#

Maybe you can ask Product to consider giving the Connect account the ability to hide Test mode if the Platform (or merchant if not a Connect scenario) is ready to fully make the switch (to sandbox)

#

now I know more because I spent this time with you, but the rest of my team is still operating on legacy Test mode knowledge.

#

well, thanks for your help. Will try those login links.

#

For what it'sd worth, Discord support remains superior to submitting the web form!

#

thanks
