hello, it will automatically be released

on the capture?

#

or you mean after the 7 day drop off?

#

I'd like to avoid the long hold on the customers money

#

if I know I'm going to only capture less than the full auth amount

#

and thanks for responding

on the capture. Just so you know though, when the the funds are released also depends on the bank

ooooh

#

I was under the impression I could do multiple captures? is that not the case?

#

ie auth for $100, capture $20, then another $30 later, etc

#

and yep loud and clear on the bank timings, wild west with them

are you referring to this guide? https://docs.stripe.com/payments/multicapture - do you have access to this? Like the guide mentions

Multicapture is part of the functionality we offer to users on IC+ pricing. If you’re on blended Stripe pricing and want access to this feature, contact Stripe Support.

Capture a PaymentIntent multiple times, up to the authorized amount.

aaah interesting, for some reason I thought this was the default setup

#

by default, most users don't have access to multicapture. What I told you i.e. the remaining funds will automatically be released, applies to the default auth and capture

perfect, that what I needed to hear!
