But isn't this somewhat a sucerity flaw?
Because people get text messages if they did put a wrong email address, for example
is the only way to disable this by disabling link in the dashboard?

Doesn't seem like a security flaw, as the text would go to the owner of the phone number and could be ignored. Putting that behavior behind a button click wouldn't change much, just delay the text a bit.
Correct, if you want to disable this behavior you would need to disable Link.
