Would I need to set the live account back to test mode for that?

Test mode and Live mode exist in parallel independently. You are not switching your account into a specific mode.
You have your Test and Live keys always available via your Dashboard and only the used keys decide whether the transactions/requests are happening in Test or Live mode.
