Email should be collected for US bank account, so that mandate or microdeposit (if necessary) notifications can be sent: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/ach-debit#mandate-and-microdeposit-emails

If Payment Element is used, it will collect necessary information for every payment method. In the case of US bank account, email address should be collected

For Payment Element, it's possible to disable email with:

options = {
  fields: {
    billingDetails: {
      email: 'never'
    }
  },
}

However, this will disable email address for ALL payment methods, not only for US bank account

#

If any other payment method requires email address, but doesn't have email address collect, error will be thrown
