Hi, let me help you with this.
Are you trying to charge the customer immediately or save the payment method for future use?
Both. With "affirm", I need to charge immediately and with other methods, I need to save for future usage too.
I recommend you to make the choice before displaying the Payment Element, since in Setup mode Affirm will disappear and you won't be able to switch back.
Payment Method types are displayed based on the parameters that you use.
So are you suggesting that it is not possible to show both card and affirm at the same time on the screen? (card with futture usage possibility and affirm with one time payment)
Card does support both instant payment and saving for the future. But Affirm doesn't seem to support recurring payments/saving for later: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/affirm
So yes, if the mode=setup then Affirm button will not show on Payment Element.
That's why I recommend deciding whether you want to charge immediately or later before showing the Payment Element.
Okay. Thanks for your help.
Happy to help.
