Hello, allowing stylists to sign up with you and get paid out is a classic use case for our Connect product. Have you already looked in to Connect and how you want to set up your platform here? https://docs.stripe.com/connect
Having a digital wallet doesn't map on to any one thing in our system, but typically that would happen via you holding funds somewhere on your account and then transferring those funds to connected accounts as they are spent.
Thank you for your response. Based on your suggestion, I understand that I would need to manage the funds on my own account and then manually transfer them to connected accounts as they are used. This would also imply that I should disable automatic payouts to have full control over when funds are transferred. Additionally, since Stripe wouldn’t store the clients’ credits, I would need to manage and store this data in my own database. Could you please confirm if this is the correct approach and if there are any best practices or potential limitations I should be aware of when implementing this system?
Yes disabling automatic payouts would be the way to go here. On top of choosing when the payout happens you can also chose how much is paid out (automatic payouts always pay out your full balance), so you can also make sure you keep the proper amount of funds.
We do have a concept of balance on customers, but that seems to be more tied to our Billing product. It looks like in theory you might be able to keep the ledger of their balance through that, but I forget if that has implications in the payment reports that we generate for your. If you are interested in going that route, I would recommend double checking with our support team.

Not immediately thinking of anything else around best practices or limitations. Will think on that for a minute and get back to you
Thank you for your answers. I will study the documentation in detail. 🙏
Of course, let us know if you have any questions!
By chance, I'm based in France and I'd like to offer TapToPay to hairstylists. Do you have any visibility on the implementation of the final version? At the moment, it's still in closed beta.
