๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome to your new thread!

Hello, good question. Looking in to what this deprecation means for existing users. We typically send out comms well in advance before we break existing integrations

#

At the top of our legacy extensions doc we say

... However, existing extensions will continue to work until 2024. If you already have an extension, we recommend migrating it to Stripe Apps.
So it sounds like you are good for now at least. Looking in to whether we have longer term dates you would want to know about here

Thank you. We are definitely concerned because 2024 will be over in a couple of months

Oh wow I misread the top of that doc, I thought it said after 2024. I now see that that is exactly what you said already. ๐Ÿคฆ

Totally understand - it does add some urgency to the matter though ๐Ÿ˜…

#

Yeah, I guess, I find the wording in the documentation to be both vague and also very concerning. "stripe extensions will not be supported after 2024" doesn't really explain what happens to existing users or our ability to acquire new users. "Not supporting" something to me could mean that the plan is for it to be broken once 2024 is over. Or it could mean just that it's deprecated and might continue to work as normal for another several years

Still having trouble finding more info. I have reached out to a colleague who knows more here and will get back to you with what we can find.

Thanks so much - side note: one issue I have on Stripe's discord is that my threads often get closed. Is there anything I need to do to ensure that this thread doesn't get closed while we're waiting for more info?

We have a policy of closing threads after 15 mins of inactivity but we shouldn't do that if you are waiting on us for info. I only see one other thread from your current Discord account and it doesn't look like that happened there. If you can send me a link to that chat I'm happy to take a look

Also can you send your account ID here (acct_1234), trying to look something up around the extensions deprecation and having your ID would be helpful

vivid dirge

Sure, this is the account ID of Twilio's platform stage account: acct_1D7E46J9fpO2Nm5m

cyan cobalt
#

Thank you, and do you have the ID of the account that is used for this extension in prod?

vivid dirge
#

yes, prod platform account ID is here: acct_1D7E4IKaLVUOEMCQ

We aren't finding a formal deprecation date or more specific timeline at the moment. I think the best thing would be to reach out to our support team, they can put you in contact with people that are more familiar with this migration and deprecation. https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
