So in this case you would have Connected Accounts for both your customers and their vendors?

no we only have a connected account for our customer. our customer has the bank details to send money to for the vendor and would want to use stripe to pay out the vendor

The vendors aren't people we interface with so we wouldn't be able to set them up on Stripe

And that is where the Treasury, Financial Connection piece comes in? Since you want to send money out from your Connected Accounts to these vendors?

We would like to not be custodians of the money at any time. I may have misread the docs but I thought that with Stripe Treasury, we would hold the funds as an intermediary. Let me give it another look

I'm trying to think through the funds flows that might allow this but I'm not super familiar with Treasury offerrings. Honestly, we mostly focus on how to take money in 😅

Yeah its a little difficult to google around this since most searches around "paying others using stripe API" show how to receive money instead haha. Mostly hunting for a way to stick to the Stripe ecosystem so we don't have to explore Plaid or other integrations and handle both for different usecases

I still think this might be something that Treasury could accomplish. Looking at the high level funds flow diagram here:

it looks like you should be able to transfer funds from your Connect Accounts Financial Account to a 3rd party external account

yeah the docs do seem to indicate something along those lines - I'll do some more investigation and report back later today/tomorrow
