โฑ๏ธ We close idle threads, which makes them read-only. Once a thread is closed it won't be reopened, but you can always start a new thread if you have another question.

Can you share some context about what you are trying to do? I don't really understand what you're looking for.
Without further context, the signal that you need to collect new payment details would be failing payments that were initiated with an existing saved payment method
If we used sources there's this event, but we use payment methods and it doesn't look like there's a corresponding version for them
Basically it seems that there used to be a way to get an event that said the payment method is expiring and needs to be updated, and I'm wondering if there's a way to handle it now that doesn't involve us storing the payment method exp date and then checking everyday if it's about to expire and sending an email to a user
Correct, there is no analogous event. While not available for all cards, this is typically handled automatically for many cards:
https://docs.stripe.com/payments/cards/overview#automatic-card-updates
I can share your feedback about wanting this kind of upcoming expiry event!
Yeah, it would def be nice to know... but I suppose it would be dumb to email a user to update their card if it will auto-update
Is it most cards that auto-update?
Like it's more rare that they don't?
Yep, it's feedback we've heard before so I am happy to add to that.
How common it is depends on where your customers are and the kind of cards they use.
Fair enough. We pretty much will have all USA users, no telling what brand of cards they'll have.

๐ @agile turret always updates my chat thread names so nicely, thank you friend
lol yeah that's when I take over. I prefer having threads clearly named as I talk to users but I'm kinda the only one on my team doing this ๐
it makes it easy for them to know when I got the thread taken over though so that works ๐
Haha makes good sense
